Double Fine’s Broken Age game became reality after a successful Kickstarter campaign that ended back in 2012. Although the project managed to raise at least 8 times more than the original goal, Double Fine only released the first part of the game two years later.

Even so, the graphic adventure by Tim Schaefer has been well received by players and critics, so those who pledged their money on Kickstarter may consider it a good investment.

The second part of the game will also be the conclusion of Broken Age. It will be available in spring 2015 as a free update for those who already own the first act.

The game is now available for purchase on Steam for €22.99, but it was on sale quite a few times since January 2014 when it was released on Valve’s digital distribution store.

The retail version will be available at the same time as the digital game

Even though an exact release date for the second part of Broken Age hasn’t been confirmed yet, developer Double Fine announced it had partnered with publisher Nordic Games for the distribution of the retail version of the game.

The boxed version of Broken Age will be released on the same date as the digital version and will run on Windows, Mac and Linux. But that is not all that the deal between the two companies will bring to Broken Age players.

According to Double Fine, new German voice-overs have been recorded for all characters. Why would Double Fine do that? Well, it’s pretty simple: Germany is currently one of the best markets for point-and-click adventure games.

“With Broken Age, 2015 starts off great for aficionados of the adventure game genre. Our intel also suggests that Germany is a veritable stronghold when it comes to pointing and clicking, hence the new German voice-overs for Broken Age make us very happy,” said Reinhard Pollice, business & product development director at Nordic Games.
