Dota 2, Valve's own take on the famous Dota mod for Warcraft 3, has just received a fresh update for all platforms, bringing even more fixes and improvements.

Valve has announced that Dota 2 for Linux and Mac OS X is available for download and has issued yet another upgrade for this MOBA title (multiplayer online battle arena).

According to the changelog, a bug where players attempting to reconnect would be rejected with "Steam authorization failed" during a Steam service disruption has been fixed, a bug where the gameserver would not properly display notification messages when a player was marked as abandoning by AFK has been corrected, and various solo matchmaking exploits have been disabled.

Also, according to Valve, ranked matchmaking will no longer accept parties with an extremely large MMR spread, a few server crashes related to clients sending invalid orders have been fixed, and the thresholds at which players are put into low-priority have been changed.

Dota 2’s Linux minimum system requirements are Ubuntu 12.04, dual-core processor from Intel or AMD at 2.8 GHz, 4GB RAM, 8GB hard drive space, nVidia GeForce 8600/9600GT, ATI/AMD Radeon HD2600/3600 (Graphic Drivers: nVidia 310, AMD 12.11), OpenGL 2.1, and OpenAL-compatible sound card.

More details about this update can be found on the official Steam website.
