The Dota 2 Rekindling 6.82 patch has just been revealed in all its glory and Valve is set to deliver with it major changes to the Dota 2 map, a few reworked heroes, as well as balance tweaks to many other characters and items from the popular online game.

Dota 2 has been around for some time now, and after the major The International 4 tournament, developer Valve released just one major update, which brought forth a new character in the form of Techies.

Since then, fans have been desperately looking for more details about the long-awaited balance patch 6.82, as well as about other new features like the Shadow Fiend Arcana items and more.

Dota 2 patch 6.82 has just been detailed

Yesterday, the first teaser image for Dota 2 update 6.82 appeared, hinting that a launch was going to happen soon enough. Now, the new update has just been revealed on the official website, with Valve presenting the Rekindling 6.82 patch.

First and foremost, the new patch revamps the Shadow Fiend hero, with new looks for his appearance and effects, but also prepares him for the new Demon Eater Arcana item.

"This Arcana provides a fiery reimagining of Shadow Fiend, complete with new effects, sounds, animations, icons, and an altered voice. We also thought it’d be fun to allow you to show off your skill at triple-razing enemies to the ground, so with the Arcana equipped you’ll be see a fiery celebration of your skill. Finally, if you buy the Demon Eater set before October 31st, it will come with an 'Exalted' quality," Valve explains.

The map and many heroes have been reworked

Besides the actual Shadow Fiend reworking, the new patch also reworks two specific heroes, in the form of Bloodseeker and Phantom Lancer, but also the actual Dota 2 map, as plenty of key areas, like the Roshan pit, have been changed.

"Major systems have been overhauled, and heroes have been retooled and reworked. Bloodseeker and Phantom Lancer both now sport new abilities, you’ll find a new rune in the river, a new item in the shop – the list goes on and on. And for the first time in years, the Dota 2 map itself has changed, with significant layout changes to Roshan’s lair, base fountains, and more."

The brand new update may have been detailed, but its actual release date hasn't been revealed just yet. The patch did go live for the Dota 2 test client, so you can expect that, when testers are finished with it, it will be available for download for the regular game.
