The second part of the Dota 2 Reborn announcement has just been released by Valve, confirming just how custom games will be available in the revamped version of the popular multiplayer title. Dota 2 has been around for quite some time now, offering a hugely popular multiplayer online battle arena experience to a loyal following all around the world.

While Valve has kept it updated with all sorts of things, the biggest change ever is coming this month, in the form of Dota 2 Reborn. The new release is a complete overhaul of the game, using the new Source 2 engine, which brings support for all sorts of new things.

Custom games play a big role for Dota 2 Reborn

Valve has already presented the improved interface for Dota 2 Reborn, and now on the official website it's started talking about custom games and how they'll play a big role in keeping the whole experience fresh.

Valve in particular emphasizes the importance of mods and custom games, especially since many of its most popular properties started out life based on existing titles.

"Custom Games are new experiences that are created by the community, and playable within Dota 2. These games can be anything from a grand brawl between ten Invokers, to a story-driven dungeon adventure, to something creative that no one has seen before. For us, Custom Games represent a continuation of the tradition that gave birth to Dota, Team Fortress and Counter-Strike. We'd like to build an ecosystem where you can experience something new every time you launch Dota 2," Valve explains.

Some custom games are coming with the beta

In a gameplay video, which you can admire below, Valve shows off some of the current custom games that are possible in Dota 2 Reborn, including a Valve-made experience called Overthrow.

Multiple other details go in-depth about the interface through which custom games will be offered to Dota 2 Reborn players, as well as resources for those who want to make mods and such experiences for the game.
