After a pretty lengthy wait, Valve has just presented the upcoming gameplay update 6.84 for Dota 2, which brings forth some huge changes regarding mechanics, heroes, or items, not to mention quite a few enhancements and new gear for active players.

Dota 2 is one of the most popular multiplayer games out there, using its free-to-play nature to draw in tens of millions of people every month. For quite a while, the 6.83 gameplay version was available, which not only brought forth big changes on top of its previous mechanics, but also saw plenty of interesting events like the Year Beast or New Bloom Festival.

Dota 2 6.84 patch is coming

Now, Valve confirms on the official website that 6.84 is coming and it's presented a work-in-progress changelog detailing the many changes that will arrive for Dota 2 in the very near future, once everything's been tested on the trial build of the popular game.

All sorts of modifications are listed by Valve, starting with changes to the gold and XP amounts awarded on hero and creep kills. The new patch favors killing heroes instead of creeps, so expect lots more ganking and a lot less farming in the game once the update hits.

Item silencing and passive disabling have also been tweaked, as Hex spells no longer disable passive skills from certain heroes. The shop location of certain items has been switched up, while other smaller tweaks are included.

Almost all of Dota 2's heroes are getting tweaks with the upcoming patch, and quite a few have received new upgrades when they purchase the Aghanim's Scepter item. These include Alchemist, Centaur Warrunner, Legion Commander, Lifestealer, Lone Druid, Morphling,  Naga Siren, Nyx Assassin, and quite a few others.

Overpowered heroes, such as Troll Warlord, Sniper, or Axe have also received some nerfs but overall they're still viable picks.

Another major aspect of update 6.84 are the new items, which include Enchanted Mango, Lotus Orb, and many other mid-tier objects that have a balanced gold cost. Many changes also affect existing items, including price reductions, nerfs or buffs depending on the case, or new effects.

Right now Dota 2 patch 6.84 is live for the test client and should launch for the final game in the near future. Check out the changelog below.
