14 DAY TRIAL // Dota 2's upcoming New Bloom Festival in-game event has received more details, with Valve confirming that a new hero will soon join the game, Terrorblade, as well as a new mechanic called Random Ability Draft, not to mention plenty of different balancing tweaks to many of the heroes and items in the game.
Dota 2 is set to receive a fresh in-game event in the near future, as the studio has already started to share the first details about the New Bloom Festival yesterday.
Now, Valve has updated the official website with more info on the upcoming themed update and in-game event.
The New Bloom Festival will bring forth one new hero, in the form of Terrorblade, who features some really interesting powers. Check out his description and abilities below.
"Terrorblade is the demon marauder—an outlaw hellion whom even other demons fear. He stole from the Demon Lords and for his crimes was taught this lesson: even Hell has a hell. He was incarcerated in Foulfell, a dark mirror of reality where demons are sentenced to gaze into twisted reflections of their own souls. But instead of suffering, Terrorblade mastered his reflected worst self and turned his terror loose upon creation."
Reflection - Create a double of your foe, which then attacks its original as it slows their movement. Conjure Image - Summon forth an illusion of yourself to aid you in battle. Metamorphosis - Embrace the darkness within, trading your melee attack for a ranged strike while granting additional damage. Sunder - Sever the soul of an ally or enemy, exchanging your health for theirs.
What's more, a new item for Terrorblade will appear on February 6, in the form of The Fractal Shard of Inner Abysm - Arcana Item, which will bring custom upgrades for the hero. These include:
- Several new animations - Altered voice - New base skin & model with special ambient effects - New Hero icon, portrait, loadout pose & minimap icon - New spell effects and icons - Socketed with a gem that tints the coloring of Terrorblade and all of his abilities - Custom death effect for Terrorblade's victims
Last but not least, a special Random Ability Draft mode will also be introduced into the game once the New Bloom Festival is underway.
"Trade the organized chaos of Dota 2 for a taste of pure bedlam! Unlocked at level 11, in this mode each player is randomly assigned a hero, and each hero's abilities are placed into a pool. Players then take turns choosing which abilities their hero will bring into battle. Behold the majesty of a Pouncing Pudge, witness Axe fumbling with Psi Blades, and experience the terror of Illusory Orb Magnus. "
