14 DAY TRIAL // Valve has just brought forth part 3 of its New Bloom Festival 2015 announcement for Dota 2, offering the actual details about some of its teased aspects, such as Winter Wyvern but also the Crystal Maiden Arcana customization set called Frost Avalanche, which comes with a special wolf puppy companion.
Dota 2 is one of the most popular multiplayer online battle arena titles, and the last few weeks have seen a massive surge in interest, as the Dota 2 Asian Championships took place in Shanghai, while Valve started teasing the debut of the New Bloom Festival 2015 in-game event.
After sharing a video and a digital comic, actual details have just been revealed on the official website about two of the major things included in the event: the Winter Wyvern hero and the Crystal Maiden Frost Avalanche Arcana items set.
Winter Wyvern is finally portrayed
As you can see, Winter Wyvern is a frost dragon and a very menacing one at that, as she can deploy three very different abilities that use ice and cold damage, as well as an ultimate that drives opponents to attack one another.
The first ability is Arctic Burn and allows Winter Wyvern to fly over obstacles and strike enemies from afar with attacks that remove a percentage of their health.
Splinter Blast causes a block of ice to shatter on an opponent, launching splinters into nearby enemies.
Cold Embrace encases an ally in a healing cocoon of ice that renders them immune to physical attacks.
Her ultimate is called Winter's Curse and freezes an enemy in place, while simultaneously cursing opponents nearby to attack their frozen ally.
Crystal Maiden Frost Avalanche Arcana is available for pre-purchase
Meanwhile, Crystal Maiden has also received official details about her Arcana item set, which is called Frost Avalanche and includes a wide array of customized items and visual effects. By far the most interesting one, however, is the addition of Aurora, a wolf pup of Icewrack, who's a non-combat pet that follows Crystal Maiden into battle. She can be toggled on or off by the Arcana's style.
The Arcana can already be pre-purchased with a 20% discount from the Dota 2 store and also includes 2400 Ability Points for the Year Beast Brawl event, while allowing your team to also earn these points during matches.
