Dota 2 has just received a special trailer during the Dota 2 Asian Championships, confirming that the upcoming New Bloom 2015 event will bring back the Year Beast game mode, but with a few major surprises, while also picturing the next big hero coming for the multiplayer game - Winter Wyvern.

Dota 2 has been around for a few years and its popularity keeps on growing, as does Valve's commitment to the community of tens of millions of fans from all over the world.

The game has been on the receiving end of quite a few big updates in recent months, including new heroes like Oracle, new Arcana customization items for existing characters, or gameplay modifications.

Unfortunately, big yearly events, such as Diretide or Frostivus, weren't organized by Valve, as the studio promised that it's working on a major overhaul for Dota 2, possibly its transition to the Source 2 engine, so it wants to dedicate as many resources as possible to that endeavor.

New Bloom 2015 finally gets some details

However, one event is still set to take place, as Valve confirmed back in December that New Bloom 2015 would be organized in February, and invited Dota 2 fans to create their own items and sets and submit them for a chance to be included in the special celebration.

Now, right before the grand finals of the Dota 2 Asian Championships, the studio has brought forth a trailer that focuses on New Bloom 2015 and its different goodies.

Just like last year, the Year Beast game mode is going to be present during the event, but instead of fighting the giant creature, the trailer says that players are invited to tame it and possibly even fight by its side in the new experience.

Winter Wyvern gets first footage

Besides confirming the Year Beast, the footage also includes the first sequences with Winter Wyvern, the next Dota 1 hero that's transitioning into Dota 2. As you can see, the creature keeps its dragon-like aspect, although it does use a winter blue shade.

Eagle-eyed fans might also spot, right during the final sequences, that Crystal Maiden flashes into view with a modified appeared. This could mean that New Bloom 2015 is also going to deliver an Arcana item for the popular support hero.

As of yet, however, Valve hasn't offered any other details, so expect to hear more soon enough. Until then, check out the video below.

Update: Added higher quality video and Valve confirms that more surprises are on the way.
