14 DAY TRIAL // The upcoming Foreseer's Contract update for Dota 2 brings forth a special Arcana item set for Phantom Assassin, called Manifold Paradox, which is also essential to the upcoming Nemesis Assassin Event that's set to take place in the following weeks.
Dota 2 has captured the hearts and minds of millions of fans from around the world with its intense gameplay and complex yet rewarding mechanics, and developer Valve takes great care to ensure that the game is still fun to play and fans have plenty of things to do.
Phantom Assassin also gets a special Arcana
After confirming more details about the next hero coming to Dota 2 – Oracle – the studio has now shared details on the official website about the special Arcana item set for Phantom Assassin, which is called Manifold Paradox.
The special item set has a particularly eerie description, which offers a bit of reasoning concerning the special effects that are going to be available to fans who equip it when playing as Phantom Assassin.
"With a raspy cackle, the elder smith Craler swung the sword that his family had spent eleven generations to fold and forge. So sharp it was that, with a sound like tearing fabric, a rip in reality tore open. Through this rip, Craler recognized himself from moments before, holding aloft the very same coveted blade. Then, in a fit of greed and madness, he cut this earlier self down to seize the twin sword as his own. Too late, however, Craler felt a familiar wound, and was suddenly filled with the memory of being cut down himself," the studio explains.
The Arcana comes with many different upgrades
When equipped, the Manifold Paradox Arcana brings quite a few different upgrades to the regular Phantom Assassin experience, as the weapon evolves and changes colors as the character fulfills contracts, enemies see a special splash effect when struck by the Coup de Grace ability, while each of the Assassin's kills will be marked on the battlefield with a Paradox Memorial.
The set also includes an animated chat emoticon, a custom portrait and minimap icon, as well as special spell effects for all her abilities, unique dual wielding animations, an altered voice, custom hero and spell icons, custom base skin with ambient effects, and a different pose when seen in the loadout screen.
What's more, for the first time in the history of Dota 2, the actual Arcana can be pre-purchased ahead of its release. Players who do this score a 20% discount that's available until December 7 and can initiate the new Nemesis Assassin event in their matches. Those who purchase by December 7 also get the exalted quality on the item.
As of yet, it's unclear when the new Foreseer's Contract update, which includes the Phantom Assassin Arcana, is going live for Dota 2.
