14 DAY TRIAL // DotA is the most popular custom made map for Warcraft III. To give players a better understanding of this complex and sometimes complicated game here is a hero guide.
Recruited from the Scourge strength Tavern, Slardar has average starting strength for a strength-based hero of 21. His starting movement speed is also average: 300 (like most heroes), while it's starting intelligence is poor: just a measly 15 intelligence points to start off with.
As an ancient guard for the Naga, Sladar has a great background story: "After a millennium of being trapped under the raging waters of the Maelstrom, Slardar rose from its chaotic depths with his brethren to serve the mighty demon lord, Illidan Stormrage.
Fanatically devoted to his cause, this Naga fought valiantly along his side until he succumbed to fatal wounds in the heat of battle. Salvation finally seemed within grasp - that is until his fate became intertwined with the grim reach of the Lich King.
Reincarnated as a soulless beast without emotion, Slardar tears through the enemy lines with inhuman speed, striking them out cold with mighty blows, undeterred in his quest to fulfill Nerzhul's every whim."
This hero is a serious contender for the hero with the best skillset and needless to say, he is still very strong. Let's talk a little more about each skill and see how it works:
- Sprint (Shortkey T) - Using this skill, the Slithereen Guard can upgrade his movement speed by 20/27/33/40 %, but takes 15% extra damage.
- Slithereen Crush (Shortkey R) - The mighty guard hits the ground, while damaging (50/100/250/200) and stunning (1/1.5/2/2.5 seconds) nearby enemy land units. It will also slow down all enemy units by 20% for 2 seconds.
- Bash (Shortkey B) - A useful skill that will give the next attack a 10/15/20/25 % chance to do bonus damage (40/50/60/70) and stun an opponent for 1 second. Be careful as this skill will not stack with Cranium Basher.
- Amplify Damage (Shortkey G) - Even though this skill does not cause direct damage is one of the most powerful ultimate spell when in 1v1 fights. It can literally help you end a hero in a couple of hits.
When cast, it will amplify physical damage against enemy units by reducing their armor with 8/12/16. Lasts 25 seconds. A very important aspect is that it will provide True Sight on the enemy unit.
As far as items go, Power Treads, Assault Cuirass and even Blink Dagger are a must for this hero, helping him to chase and kill more easily.
Overall, Slardar has decent stats for a strength hero, but it is his awesome skill set which makes him dangerous in the right hands.
