DotA aka Defense of the Ancients remains one of the most popular custom made maps for Warcraft III. This hero guide allows players a better understanding of this complex and sometimes intricate game.

A massive sea monster of incredible strength and toughness, Leviathan is a real tank. You can recruit him from the Neutral Strength tavern.

Here's the story of the mighty monster from sea: "Formerly considered by the Old Gods as an oeuvre of the cosmos, Leviathan was thrown into the watery abyss after an alleged connivance with the Titans whom they have fought against.

Chained to an anchor and guarded by a virtually indomitableness kraken, the Tidehunter had lain dormant in the unfathomable depths for eons until he mustered enough strength to break away.

He killed his enslaver, took its shell as armor and the once loathed anchor became his weapon. Unforgiving and as frigid as the sea, Leviathan had sworn to disembowel everyone who would dare disturb his much valued freedom as he knocks them out with ravaging force.

The terror of the tides had come at last and all those who will try to stop him shall be swept away."

His skills make him a formidable opponent for range and melee alike:

- Gush (shortkey G) - Summons a spirit of the tides to damage 110/160/210/260 an enemy unit. Reduces the movement speed by 40% and 2/3/4/5 armor of the enemy unit and lasts 4 seconds.

- Kraken Shell (shortkey R) - It will create a thick armor shell around Leviathan that protects him against attacks reduces damage received by 7/14/21/28 . Additionally, this ability removes negative buffs every time 600 damage is taken. Damage counter for buff removal resets when you don't take player based damage for 6 seconds.

- Anchor Smash (shortkey C) - Leviathan swings his mighty anchor with a vengeance. Gives a 25% chance to deal bonus damage 75/115/155/200 to nearby enemies.

- Ravage (shortkey V) - Makes Tidehunter slam the ground, causing waves of spikes to ring the hero in all directions. Deals 250/350/450 damage and stuns for 1.5/1.8/2.25. Full damage and stun are dealt to invisible units.

Tidehunter is known for his excellent all-around skills: starting every attack with Ravage, tanking with Kraken Shell and dealing massive damage per second with his Anchor Smash.

He has excellent strength growth, however he becomes weaker later game. He is an easy hero to use, but a rewarding one to master. If you have any other suggetions please let all the DotA fans know in a comment.

Very powerful gank changing ulti but should be used wisely. Blink dagger is a useful item to setup ulti if it can be farmed fast.

Tide players should be careful as they will be targetted first because of his ulti.
