Donatella Versace isn’t just one of the most respected fashion designers in the world, she’s also an icon in the industry. Though much has been said about her appearance and apparent love of plastic surgery, she says her beauty secret is another.

Moisturizer.

Donatella spoke at the Vogue Festival at London’s Southbank the other day, and she also offered members of the audience a tip into how she manages to look glamorous at all times, the Daily Mail reports.

“My style is not that big, I wear heels, tight pants and I wear diamonds,” she says of her trademark look, adding that she can’t even remember when she last wore flats.

As for her beauty secret, Donatella says, “I stopped working with a personal trainer as he wouldn't let me smoke.”

“I'm not like this genetically, I use tons of cream and take care of my hair and skin,” she adds.

Anyone with only a mild interest in fashion (or the curiosity to Google her name for photos) knows that Donatella’s face went through drastic transformations throughout the years, and we’re not just saying this to be mean but only to explain why her comments prompted hilarious responses online.

For a woman who hardly resembles her younger self because of plastic surgery (allegedly) and who is always so tanned as if she’s just returned from a vacation on the Sun, Donatella clearly likes to downplay her beauty routine.

Then again, perhaps any other woman would do the same, voices online note.

On the same occasion, the fashion designer talked about her late brother Gianni, who passed away in 1997, calling him her inspiration.

“I was a rebel, Gianni was a rebel as well. I was never satisfied, I'm a very curious person. Gianni always told me to be fearless, provocative and daring,” were her exact words.
