Donald Trump unveiled his proposal for replacing the World Trade Center originals with taller and impressive towers, as a statement against terrorism.
His structural engineer,
Kenneth Gardner, assures that the new structure would be able to withstand terrorist attacks like those that brought down the Twin Towers on September 11.

The Ground Zero redevelopment project was a subject of various disputes between architects, politicians, as well as Government and Police officials.

Donald Trump considers the present plans for the Freedom Tower is just an empty skeleton suggesting a capitulation. In his opinion, the new building that would be erected at the end of 2008 has to be both a security and an architectural model, but mostly a symbol of rebirth.

The right and wrong of the architecture of the rebuilding of Ground Zero, NY is a question I cannot answer. My instinct at the time was to build them back bigger and better with appropriate homage paid to those who perished. Regardless of how it is rebuilt, and I hope it is build with over 110 stories of habitable space, the Department of Homeland Security should be headquartered on the top floors of each tower. In addition to sending a message to perspective renters that this space is safe, it has the added value of completing a full-on F-U to those who thought they had actually broken our backs.

I fully agree with the renowned Donald Trump. First of all, let me say, that I am not a New Yorker, nor am I even an American in the first place ( I am Asian Indian) studying in Australia. I did feel the tragedy of 9/11. It was simply shocking and totally devastating to not just Americans , but, even for the rest of the civilised world. We Indians shared your grief almost all the way. Besides, as an architect afficianado, I was heart broken when the WTC collapsed. To get to the point, most Americans and people overseas alike would like to see the twin towers rebuilt. Mr Trump is a genius and we are all with him all the way. No disrespects intended, but the idea of an ugly awful looking crappy junk pile like the Freedom tower only denotes a victory to those vile terror loving psychos. Rebuild the Twin towers ...do it for Beauty, Architecture, the people who lost their lives that day, the American people and for the people of this world. We consider it a world heritage model of beauty, poweress and technological-Architectual marvel. Dear Americans, do your country proud and kindly, support the plan of Mr Donald Trump. He is the key to a new renaissance in America and a revival of the 9/11 blues which we are all still suffering from. Thank you.
