Donald Trump offers President Barack Obama one more day to come up with the required documentation

Mock him if you will but Donald Trump is pressing on with his “mission” to have President Barack Obama make public private documents from his youth, including his passport application. Because of Hurricane Sandy, he’s just given him an extra day to do just that.

A few days ago, Trump was whipping the media into a frenzy with cryptic messages about how he’d make an Obama announcement that would literally change the elections.

It turned out that was more of an offer (and not of the “you can’t refuse it” kind): become more transparent and Trump would pledge to donate $5 million (€3.8 million) to a charity of the President’s choice.

Moreover, Trump gave Obama a deadline: the offer would expire on October 31.

Thinking that, what with Hurricane Sandy ravaging the East Coast, Obama might be a little too busy to go searching for the documents he demanded to be made public, Trump is feeling generous.

“Because of the hurricane, I am extending my 5 million dollar offer for President Obama’s favorite charity until 12PM on Thursday,” he writes on his Twitter.

As was to be expected, Obama hasn’t even acknowledged this, even though he initially did address the Trump “announcement” by treating it like one big joke.

Meanwhile, some Twitter users are striving to get Trump to donate the money to charity regardless of what the President does or, more likely, what he does not do.

“Using the hashtag #ThanksDonald, Twitter users have a different idea for Trump — donate the money anyway. The users have started a movement calling on Donald Trump to donate $5 million [€3.8 million] to relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy,” the Inquisitr reports.

This way, Trump would get to give away the money he said he was eager to donate (“Frankly, it’s a check I very much want to write,” were his exact words), and victims of Sandy would get the help they so badly need right now.

Below is Trump’s “Obama announcement.”
