iFixit: Don’t Worry, the New EarPods Won’t Look Funny in Your Ears

If you think the new EarPods from Apple are somewhat strange-looking, you’re not alone. They do look like they're from another planet (as if they arrived with the Apple Campus 2 spaceship). But iFixit says there’s nothing to worry about. They’re not that ugly when you wear them.

In fact, “with the EarPods in your ears, it's actually pretty difficult for passers-by to tell that your headphones aren't just good ol' Apple Earbuds,” says the repair shop.

In performing a teardown of the new Apple headphones, iFixit said, “If someone can tell, they either have quite an eye for detail, or they're way too close to your face.”

So there you have it. If you were concerned that the alien-looking hardware was going to get people talking behind your back, you can put those fears away. If you trust the geeks at iFixit, that is.
