Klei Entertainment has confirmed that Don't Starve will get the Reign of Giants expansion on the PS4 platform next week, starting on July 22, and that a free patch with plenty of improvements is also set to debut at that time.

Don't Starve released onto the PS4 earlier this year, bringing forth the great survival experience that garnered acclaim on the PC back in 2013.

Since then, Klei Entertianment has been hard at work adapting the Reign of Giants expansion for the Sony console, and it has now confirmed on its blog that it will debut next week.

More specifically, Reign of Giants launches for Don't Starve on PS4 on July 22 in North America and July 23 in Europe. It's going to cost 5 USD/EUR, but PS Plus subscribers get a 10% discount.

The expansion brings new playable characters, a bigger world with new creatures, an extra save slot and, like the name suggests, giants, which affect the regular survival experience in different ways.

A special free update with various improvements and new elements for the game will also debut next week alongside the premium expansion. It includes more dialog, more options for world generation, or a random character select when starting a new game.
