A new patch for Dominions 3: The Awakening is available from the folks at Shrapnel Games.  Developed by Illwinter Game Design, The Awakening is the third installment in the turn-based fantasy war game series known as Dominion. The patch brings the Mac version of the game to 3.20.

Among the most noteworthy additions are new troops for the Atlantis nation, as well as a new hero, and a slew of bug fixes. A full list of the enhancements included with this patch is available below.

Dominions 3: The Awakening (3.20)

- Battle enchantments expire when caster retreats from battle ground. - New switch: --nocheatdet. - Crash during host fixed. - Improved move order validation. - Increased maximum number of maps allowed in the map folder. - LA Atlantis got new troops to recruit under water. - LA Atlantis got a new hero. - Increased maximum number of messages (for huge games). - Increased maximum number of commanders and units (for huge games).

Dominions 3: The Awakening is the sequel to Dominions 2: The Ascension Wars. In the game, players are tasked with ascending to godhood using all the power at their disposal. In a world of magic and steel, you can use military might, eldritch power, or subterfuge (or, more likely, a combination of all three) to achieve your goal. Upon embarking on your journey to become a god, you will have to recruit troops (more than 1,500 units are available), assassinate the enemy, scout territory, research magic (600+ spells and 300+ magic items), perform rituals, do a blood hunt, storm a castle, construct, pray, forge and more.

Dominions 3: The Awakening has been designed with mod-making in mind. Any image can be turned into a map, while players can even use their favorite Dominions 2 maps with the new game.

The latest patch for Dominions 3: The Awakening is available here. System requirements call for Mac OS X 10.1 or later, 256MB RAM, 500 MB disk space and a good OpenGL accelerated graphics card (GeForce or an equivalent is recommended).
