Dominic Cooper, the leading actor of the new World of Warcraft movie, says that both he and the director working on the project are feeling a lot of pressure to create a product that satisfies the expectations of Blizzard fans.

He is quoted by CVG as saying that he is constantly aware of the way gamers are engaged with the MMO and that it is “scary, because that’s a very specific world, so that really does have people who exist in that world and probably live more of their life in that world than they do in the real world, which is terrifying in itself.”

It’s at the moment unclear whether the coming World of Warcraft movie will use a storyline associated with the game universe or if the script creators are working on an entirely new narrative.

The only information from the producers is that the movie will be set before the original Warcraft video game.

Cooper adds, “there have been people creating that world for many years and it’s got a very specific look, and the characters within that, people have already made their minds up about who they are and what they mean to them. So that’s quite a lot of pressure, in that you feel obligated to give the people who have spent the majority of their life playing it what they expect for it.”

Blizzard is currently working closely with Legendary Pictures, Relativity Media and Atlas Entertainment in order to make sure that the World of Warcraft movie does not include elements that are foreign to the franchise.

Filming has already started and the team is expecting to wrap up all scenes before the end of the year.

The World of Warcraft film is set to be launched on March 11, 2016.

Until then, fans of World of Warcraft will be able to play the new Warlords of Draenor expansion, which is set to arrive no later than December 20 of this year.

It is designed to allow gamers to explore the original home of the Orcs for the first time in the history of the MMO and will introduce a range of new quests and areas, while players can evolve past level 90.

Those who pre-order Warlords of Draenor will be able to enjoy in-game bonuses and will also have extra content for Diablo 3 and Starcraft 2.

A level 90 boost for one character is also included in the expansion.
