14 DAY TRIAL // Dolphin Browser HD is one of the most popular Internet browsers available for the owners of handsets running under Google's Android operating system.
The application was recently updated to offer support for tablet PCs powered by the Android 2.3 Honeycomb OS, but it seems that the experience it could provide on the larger screens of these devices was not what the development team was looking for.
Thus, they decided to come up with a specifically designed flavor of the mobile browser to fit the tablet PCs based on Google's mobile operating system, called Dolphin for Android Pad.
Available only in a beta version at the moment, the new browser was made available for download via the Android Market and can be found here.
“We want to bring the best mobile browsing experience to our Android Pad users. Many users already knew about our Android Pad version several months ago. Right! Dolphin for Pad v1.0 beta is ready for you to download in Android Market,” the development team notes in a blog post.
The new application was specifically designed to fit the Android tablets, and should offer an intelligent mobile web browser experience to all owners of such devices.
With the new mobile browser, users will find it easier to interact and engage with the web while on the go, the company explains.
“With 50 million Android tablet sold in 2010 and growing, Dolphin Browser now enables users of this growing mobile device market to access their favorite websites, feeds and music, right in their mobile browser with just a touch of their fingertip,” the blog post continues.
The new Dolphin Browser for Pad browser also comes with a series of features from Dolphin Browser HD, such as support for gestures and add-ons, as well as multi-touch zoom.
Moreover, the application will offer tabbed browsing, along with side bars (the left side bar will now change into windows list you opened).
“We also took advantage of the Android tablet big screen, we paid a lot attention on the design of Dolphin Browser for Pad layout: bigger screen for you to create your own Gesture; clearer settings interface; especially optimized for tablet user experience,” the development team explains.
