The team behind one of the most popular third-party mobile browsers available on the market, Dolphin Browser, has just inked a partnership with major Japanese carrier KDDI to offer customers the advantages of the fastest browser application.

Under agreement, Dolphin Browser will be pre-loaded on future, yet-to-be-released Android-powered handsets.

The only browser that can be controlled via Gesture and Voice, Dolphin Browser will also be available for download via KDDI’s mobile app store, au Smart Pass, which has more than 1 million members.

We've had wonderful success bringing Dolphin Browser to our U.S.-based users. This partnership gives us unprecedented access to millions of subscribers in Japan. These users now have Dolphin Browser, the ultimate mobile browsing experience, pre-loaded on their new smartphone,” said Yongzhi Yang, CEO of MoboTap, makers of Dolphin Browser.

Dolphin Browser has more than 16 million total downloads worldwide for both iOS and Android versions. With this move, the Dolphin Browser team attempts to score even bigger and strengthen its presence in Japan.

To fulfill its expansion plans, Dolphin Bowser needed an important partner and KDDI with its over 30 million customer database is the perfect choice.

According to the developers, Dolphin Browser for Android has seen over 20,000 downloads since its debut last month as a featured app in KDDI's app store.

Dolphin's success piqued our attention and they were a clear choice as our pre-loaded browser. We are excited about this partnership which will bring Dolphin's impressive portfolio of unique browsing experiences to our subscribers. We are looking forward to a deeper relationship for the next era,” concluded Makoto Takahashi, senior vice president of KDDI Corporation.

Dolphin Browser is also available as a free download via Google Play Store and it should be fully compatible with all devices running Android 2.0.1 and up.
