Soon after launching its Dolphin Browser Mini built on the Android 1.6 engine, the Dolphin development team has also updated its premium product, Dolphin Browser HD to version 4.2 beta1. The new update comes one day after Google has officially launched its latest Android 2.3 Gingerbread mobile platform

The new Dolphin Browser HD 4.2 beta1 fixes some bugs that were found when the browser was running on Android 2.3 Gingerbread and adds support for simplified Chinese language.

The complete changelog is detailed below:

- Added “rolling titles” in tab bar; - Long press the icon of gesture and drag the icon to the corner you want (bottom left & bottom right); - Fix the bug that Copy URL cannot work; - Added support for simplified Chinese language.

It seems that the Dolphin development team is always taking into consideration the feedback received from the browser's users.

Not long ago many were complaining that the tabs were too large to make it easier to switch between windows when more than three webpages were open.

A tab small enough to display just the icon of the website you're visiting should suffice, especially since the current tabs aren't showing the full site name anyway.

The new Dolphin Browser HD 4.2 beta1 changes this, but it doesn't make the tabs smaller, instead it displays a rolling title on the tab bar, so users can read the full site name.

This might be a better solution after all, as cutting the size of the tabs would hinder the web browsing experience for people that have smartphones with smaller screens or bigger fingers.

Dolphin Browser HD 4.2 beta1 is only compatible with Android 2.0 or later devices and can be downloaded for free from Softpedia. More add-ons for the browser can be installed via this link.
