Doherty Tried to Kill Himself

I hear he's also engaged - are the two connected in some way?

For some reason, people seem to find this particular piece of news less interesting than, for example, Britney showing off her coochie again. No, I was just kidding - I mean, no one on Earth could possibly wish anything bad for Pete Doherty, and we're all ears whenever any news comes about his latest exploits. I mean, this guy is just to die for - literally, and his life is much more of a mess that we could ever expect from other big names in the "totally drugged out" category, such as Brit Brit, for instance. When it comes to drugs, Doherty is the real deal. He never disappoints - or at least that's what I thought, until now.

It looks like there are reasons to believe that Doherty is not that strong a druggie as I believed him to be. News has just come out that he tried to kill himself while in rehab, shortly after he found out that his ex girlfriend and former fellow druggie slash supermodel Kate Moss announced she was engaged to her new man Jamie Hince. But he was not very successful in his attempt to off himself because he swallowed a bottle of pills and promptly puked the whole thing out. Ha! As if any kind of pill could possibly work for Doherty! He'd probably have to swallow a dozen bottles or something - possibly even more.

A source claims that "he saw an opportunity to take an overdose and took it. He told me he didn't know what the pills were but thought 'f**k it' and took them all. He doesn't care what drugs do to him-in fact, he likes finding out". Yes, that sounds just like Doherty. In fact, I have to double check and make sure the source in question is not Courtney Love by any chance - because if it is, I will believe she is in fact speaking from experience and we may even suspect she taught old Pete a few drug-taking tricks just for fun.

The funny part is that Doherty has also just been released from rehab after allegedly being clean for 6 weeks. I have a little question though - is that six weeks after he tried to kill himself, or six weeks in total? And does the whole "swallowed a bottle of pills" thing count as not being sober if he puked it all out shortly after? Probably by his standards, it was nothing but the equivalent of a short snack. Or something along those lines. And just to prove that he can, Doherty is also allegedly engaged to Canadian model Irina Lazareanu. Yes, kids, we're playing "I can get engaged too" now - so everybody, pick a random partner and go!
