Dachshunds (i.e. dogs with short legs and rather long bodies) are a breed much appreciated by dog lovers. However, it seems that the citizens of Poland love these animals more than other people do.

Hence the annual Dachshund Parade: a gathering of such dogs and their owners, during which the animals are dressed up in funky outfits and made to parade around the streets of Krakov.

Naturally, countless tourists and locals line up and wait for the parade to go by, all the while admiring the outfits and commenting on how imaginative some owners have been when putting together the costumes for their pets.

According to sources, this event is also meant to raise awareness about the need to respect animal rights, as police officers are always on standby to inform people about the legal consequences of abusing animals.
