Thousands of dogs, cats, rabbits and their owners got all dressed up and showed up at the Beggin' Pet Parade on Sunday, which took place in St. Louis, Missouri. This year's event was the 21st edition of the parade.

The Soulard Mardi Gras Beggin' Pet Parade is a very popular event among pet lovers, and gets both owners and animals very excited.

“Oh its great. We’ve been coming down here for the last five years. It's a good day to get out in Soulard and enjoy all of the other pets and animals today,” said pet owner Tim Luttrell, who is a regular attendant of the event, cited by Riverfront Times.

The Beggin' Pet Parade holds the Guinness World Record for most dogs in costume.

This year, Andy Cohen of Bravo TV acted as the ceremonial marshal of the parade, while Barenaked Ladies performed a concert after the ceremony.

The event also included music, photo booths, and even a costume contest.

For many people, the Beggin' Pet Parade is a good opportunity to meet other animal lovers and learn new things about pets. It's also a great occasion to have fun with their animal friends.

Photos of the dressed-up animals were posted on the Internet and we must admit that some of them are really comical. As you can see in the photo gallery below, two Doberman Pinschers came at the event pedaling a bike, while a cute golden retriever showed up with his fur painted in tiger colors.

Some of the dogs do not seem to understand why they have to wear those funny outfits and their faces clearly express their confusion.
