Probably one of the worst images one can see is their favorite dog running towards them with a hand grenade in his mouth, and not knowing it is fake. As expected, Beverly Milner-Simonds had the shock of her life when she noticed her pet Thatcher retrieving something that looked like an explosive device.

The 39-year-old was walking her dog on the beach in Burham-On-Sea when she decided to play fetch, and threw her puppy a ball. After getting distracted and digging in the sand for a little while the puppy came back with a wartime like explosive instead of the ball.

Thatcher's owner panicked for a few seconds and then reached down to take the dangerous thing from the dog's reach when she noticed that it was just a fake plastic toy. “For a split second though, I feared for my life,” Mrs. Milner-Simonds said, according to Daily Mail.

The woman was very alerted because of her experience with real explosives when she used to work as a volunteer for the Coastguard, knowing what damages this kind of objects can bring. Luckily for her, Thatcher did not find a real grenade and only gave her a scare worth remembering.
