A dog found lying on a pile of rubble after the tornado that ripped through Moore in Oklahoma is not alone in the world.

In one piece of good news coming after the deadly tornado, the dog's owner is alive, having survived the ordeal.

The photo of Susie on the left was posted by the Oklahoma County Sheriff's Department online, and it became viral, allowing the pair to be reunited.

Curtis Collins was thrilled to locate his dog Susie, whom he thought he had lost for good. He made it through the tornado, but realized that Susie disappeared from his yard afterwards.

The pooch was guarding a house, lying next to the spot where a man's remains were found. He died when the building fell apart on top of him, under the grizzling force of the twister.

“Curtis was on his way home from work when the tornado hit. When he got home his other dog Max was there but Susie was nowhere to be seen.

“He started looking for her but couldn't find her anywhere,” the owner's sister Sheila tells Daily Mail.
