42-year-old Royston Grimstead from Somerset, England recently parted with his dog, a border collie spaniel cross named Luce, after the latter became upset for some reason and took it out on its owner's luxury car.

More precisely, it would appear that the pooch chewed on the fiberglass wheel Arch of Royston Grimstead's Aston Martin, and did so with such determination that it managed to destroy a huge chunk of the vehicle.

The 42-year-old man recollects that, the day the incident happened, he came home to find that Luce was covered in something that looked very much like feathers.

It did not take him long to realize that the white stuff was not feathers, but bits and pieces of fiberglass. What's more, he quickly figured out where the fiberglass had come from.

Most people would go ballistic should their dog eat part of their car, but Royston Grimstead says that he merely laughed the entire affair off.

“I came home and saw her covered in white stuff and I thought she had got a bird and it was feathers - but it was the fiberglass from the car,” he told the press, as cited by Daily Mail.

Furthermore, “She had chewed out a huge chunk. I just laughed. I mean, what else could I do? I'm not a crier and she knew she had done something wrong because she had this guilty look on her face.”

Although he did not scold Luce, the 42-year-old man says that, the very next day, he managed to find a new family for the pooch, and felt somewhat relieved at the thought of no longer having it around.

He explains that, before actually parting with the border collie spaniel cross, he spent some time thinking about giving the dog away on account of its not getting along with the family's other dog.

Apparently, what Luce did to his car was the push he needed to make a final decision on the issue. More so given the fact that the damage done by the dog to the Aston Martin amounted to some ₤3,000 (roughly €3,619 / $4,891).

“I didn't tell the new owners what she had done – I expect when they hear I'll find Luce back on my doorstep,” Royston Grimstead confessed in an interview.
