Apparently, the AoC girls cause less damage

Age of Conan is the biggest MMORPG release this year and one of the biggest in recent years. Despite that, since it came a few years after its biggest competitors, it will not be pardoned too easy for its mistakes and bugs. And, apparently, the developers did not see a small bug in the game (and neither did players - until now).

An in-depth review of Age of Conan on yougamers.com, by Jarno Kokko, claims that the female characters in the MMO "swing their weapons about 25% slower than males - so every female melee character does 25% less damage over time". Just imagine the fury born following this discovery.

Of course, since nobody should take anything for granted, a lot of people have started to verify the accuracy of the statement and, as it usually happens in the games world, two factions appeared: those who said that female and male characters swing their weapons at the same speed, while others completely agreed and were "shocked".

Eventually, Funcom issued a short statement on the official forums which was meant to clear things up (but hasn't actually managed to do so): "There should of course be no difference between a male and a female character of the same class (other than the looks). But we have gathered the feedback about this and are looking into it."

It seems that, in the end, the so much loved female characters in Age of Conan are also the most problematic ones - it was only last week that gamers were upset by a breast size reduction applied by Funcom; the company promised to solve the problem. And now, it has another one. We're wondering whether there are more to come and how much all these will influence Age of Conan in a negative way - most of us know that all the MMOs were launched with lots of bugs but... is it still forgivable?
