Back in last year's December, it was announced that documentary film “Blaskfish” had been shortlisted for the Oscars, and many said that it was sure to win an award.

However, recent news on the topic says that, despite being considered last year's most influential documentary film, “Blackfish” won't win an Oscar after all.

This is because it did not make the final cut of five nominees, Ecorazzi explains.

Talking to the press, Director Gabriela Cowperthwaite said that, although “Blackfish” would not be honored at the upcoming Oscars ceremony, it was nonetheless pretty amazing that the documentary film was considered for an award.

“As a documentarian you’re just hoping that your film goes out there and does good work,” the director said. “To think you might get the biggest filmic acknowledgement in the world—I just don’t have any words,” she added.
