A toddler’s parents sought out medical help after the young boy started experiencing breathlessness and wheezing. They were warned about him having cancer, but it turned out that he had inhaled a peanut.
Helen and James Delap were told by doctors that their son, Ewan, could be growing a cancerous tumor in his throat.
After an X-ray revealed a small blob in that area, the situation did not look good. The nut had been inhaled months ago and it had been covered in tissue.
It took a series of in-depth, intrusive testing for doctors to realize that the cancerous tumor was a peanut, according to the Mirror.
“When we saw the consultant he said small children pick things up and inhale them and that night they put a camera down his airway,” mom Helen says.
