Eidos would rather be associated with games where blood and violence are the main characters, while controversy is not completely
out of question. However, it seems that every now and then they decide to create a game that is completely safe for kids and, overall, promises to bring to life a great and fun experience.

So, they have decided to bring to PS2 and DS consoles, as well as PC systems one of the most beloved doctors in the world: Doctor Who, in a game that will be called Top Trumps: Doctor Who. The game, as the name suggests, will feature characters from the popular BBC TV series and it is going to unite two of UK's largest brands under one roof.

Top Trumps: Doctor Who brings the classic card game to life by introducing interactive elements and combining them with character animations from the hugely popular Doctor Who: Infinite Quest animation series, plus a whole universe of mini-games to keep everyone entertained. In other words, we're going to get no less than 35 character cards, all of them coming with full biographic data, battling in the classic Top Trumps rule set or following the more tactical head to head "Adventure" challenge.

"We wanted to offer something very fresh to fans of both Top Trumps and to Doctor Who," said Ray Livingston, Brand Manager, Eidos. "This game has so much to offer so you can expect a fast, fun and fantastic experience, which has something for everyone to enjoy."

Announced for a "Spring 2008" release, it also means that we'll get to see the game in stores sooner rather than later - sometime during this month, probably, since we ain't going to have more spring after the end of the month... And I am sure this is great news for fans all over the world. No Xbox 360 or PS3 versions, though.

Or instead of a card game, why not make a Timelords V Daleks V Cybermen Battlefield Based game, where they fight on different planets from the series including the great time war on Galafrey =S. which would be amazingly awsome in FPS style. where the limits to roaming are battlefield based. where you can use dalek saucers, Timelord Tardis's and Cybermen walkers. that would be awsome and sell so many more games.
