Dock Spaces de-clutters your view by allowing you to swap through ten different Docks, in even more spaces. With the release of Dock Spaces 2.40, developer Patrick Chamelo has added the ability to integrate up to 6 more spaces than previously supported (10). Other enhancements have also been included.

According to the release notes for Dock Spaces 2.40, developer Patrick Chamelo has added Drag & Drop support for rearranging purposes, along with an improved Spaces integration. Best of all, Dock Spaces boasts integration for up to 16 spaces, making the software even more of an asset for your Mac.

By providing options to select whether or not icons bounce in one Dock, or by setting another to automatically hide itself while the rest are in Tiger-style 2D, with different alignment and positioning, users can tailor their Mac's application launcher to their exact needs (speaking of application launchers, check out Bevy!). Dock Spaces also works side by side with OS X Leopard's own Spaces feature and can equip you with as many as ten essentially different Docks. Each Dock is customizable.

As noted in our extensive review of Dock Spaces, there are numerous applications that allow Mac users to modify the looks and the works of their Dock, but none offers the many advantages of Dock Spaces, from a functionality point of view. Given that the utility is completely free to download and use, there is no reason why you shouldn't download and at least try Dock Spaces to see how it fits your Mac.

Dock Spaces main features include:

- Up to 10 Different docks; - Task-specific / context-focused Docks; - Set the name of the Dock; - Spaces integration; - Growl support; - Software update; - Completely Free!

Fresh out of Beta, Dock Spaces also adds “hotkeys,” allowing you to swap through your docks and spaces using whatever combination of keys you find most suitable. Unfortunately for Tiger users, Dock Spaces is only available for OS X 10.5 Leopard. The app is a Universal Binary, compatible with both PowerPC and Intel machines.
