You Really Want to See This: Avril Lavigne Looks Like Paris Hilton

Oh, man, I knew I should never have asked the jinx question about Avril Lavigne. You know, that silly moment when you think that either yourself or someone you really really hate has reached the all-time low, that particular moment in which you say to yourself "this can't get any worse...could it?". And then, ten minutes later, something happens that makes you realize you were wrong - it could turn out worse, whatever it was.

Well, strange enough, the exact same thing happened to me thinking about Avril Lavigne. After reading an interview she did a few weeks back in which she was just incredibly annoying and arrogant (some would say, just being herself) I was thinking that her opinion about herself has to be taken down a notch or two and that someone should really teach this girl about humility. Well, and then I found out she has a new video out of a song called "Hot". And I decided to do what I felt was a wrong move and watch it - and if you're in a good mood right now, I've added the video below.

And the first thing that crossed my mind was "oh, man, she looks like Paris Hilton". And for those of you still in doubt, that was absolutely not a compliment of any sorts - on the contrary. I mean...come on, she looks like a doll in a cheap wig. A short, annoying, arrogant doll who thinks she's somehow the world's biggest idol. But I must tell you, in my opinion, the chic-rock-punk-purple-highlight-dirty-slutty-green-corset look is really not her thing. I'm sorry, but ever since Christina Aguillera rocked the slutty sexy look in that Moulin Rouge video there's not been much room for improvement on the market.

I thing Avril should just stick to the sort of look and sound that made her (cough) famous in the first place, and the world would be a much happier place. It would definitely be less annoying. Oh, and she should definitely drop the Paris look - or she'll have people walking up to her in the street asking for advice about herpes treatment. I'd love to know how she'd handle that one.
