Do I Smell a Little Bulimia?

Mary Kate Olsen is taking the Lindsay route

Have you noticed how all these young Hollywood starlets...let me think...Lindsay Lohan, Britney...you know, the whole generation of the wonder children turned cocaine users...well, they all seem to go through exactly the same paces? First, they become famous, then they start winning lots of money...and at some point we find out that in fact they've been suffering from an eating disorder all along. Which for the rest of the mankind, not accustomed to the way in which things go in the world of the rich and famous, translates into...say the magic words, everyone...kidney infection.

Mary-Kate Olsen is the latest case of celebrity hospitalized with such a kidney infection. The 21-year-old actress was rushed to a New York hospital emergency room yesterday, amid fears that she may be battling an eating disorder - again. OK, so I wasn't 100% accurate. In MK's case, we already knew there was an eating disorder lurking in the background - only it seems that the bulimia...that is, the kidney infection took us a little by surprise this time.

The star's representative Nicole Caruso said yesterday: "Mary-Kate has a kidney infection. She was admitted to the emergency room earlier today. She is resting comfortably and will be released in the next day or so". Probably after they tied her to a bed and force-fed her a few square meals. Then she'll definitely feel better. This is even more ironic given the fact that Mary-Kate (who "visited" Utah's Cirque Lodge rehab facility to be treated for an eating disorder three years ago) recently insisted she was feeling healthy. "Mentally, physically, I feel pretty on top of my game right now."

Last year, Lindsay Lohan revealed she developed a similar kidney infection while she was suffering from bulimia. Case proven. Mary-Kate also admitted she still has issues with her body and is reluctant to be seen in a bikini. She said: "I would love to be able to swim in the ocean in Malibu. But that is asking for a bikini shot. That's inviting something that I don't want to happen. I don't need to be on a 'Who's Skinny, Who's Fat, Who's Looking Healthy, Who's Not Eating?' list". Who wants to bet drug rehab is next?
