14 DAY TRIAL // Algoriddim today announced a partnership with Spotify and an update to its popular DJ-ing apps for iPhone and iPad featuring new audio FX section, over 30 new audio effects, and lots more.
Algoriddim’s partnership with Spotify means you can “mix over 20 million songs instantly in djay,” according to the developers. That’s not necessarily true considering the time it takes to download 20 million songs or the fact that you can’t get such a vast library of tunes “instantly” on your iDevice. But you probably caught the drift: Spotify integration.
The second part of the announcement deals with all the new features included in djay 2.5, such as the all-new audio FX section, the 30 extra audio effects powered by Sugar Bytes, as well as a free sample pack by House DJ veterans Milk & Sugar.
The Spotify integration means you get a Library with options to use Playlists, Inbox, Charts, Browse, and Search, a song recommendation tool powered by Echo Nest, a tool that automatically finds and matches similar tracks from Spotify (Automix Radio), low latency audio streaming, and the ability to export your djay session as a Spotify playlist. You can also share your works as links via SMS, email, Facebook, and Twitter.
Users looking to enjoy these perks will require a Spotify Premium subscription, but the good news is you can try all this today for free with a seven-day pass. After that, it’s pay time.
Moving on to the new Audio FX section, Algoriddim has readied over 30 new desktop-class audio effects for you, all powered by Sugar Bytes. You can get these via the in-app purchase mechanism that Apple is getting slapped on the wrist for in Italy.
Other new additions in this area include a list selection menu for audio FX, wet-dry mixing, and strip-based FX.
Some free samples are also available in a pack by Milk & Sugar and the update includes some improvements in the music library UI, tools UI (Looping, Cue Points, EQ, FX), the filter to EQ section, and other areas.
