This December, Quentin Tarantino fans will finally get to see the movie that the entire world has been buzzing about since May, when it opened at the Cannes Film Festival: “Django Unchained.”

In a recent interview to promote it, cited by ScreenCrave, the director revealed that the film is actually part of an “unofficial trilogy” that kicked off with the critically acclaimed “Inglourious Basterds.”

The good news is that, if this is accurate, a third film in the same vein will also be made sometime in the future.

“I don’t know, Inglourious Basterds and Django Unchained bespeak a trilogy… As different as they are, there is a companion piece quality. There might very well be a third one. I just don’t know what it is yet,” Tarantino said.

Until he makes up his mind, we’ll have “Django” to freak out about.

The film stars Leonardo DiCaprio, Jamie Foxx, Christoph Waltz, Kerry Washington and Samuel L. Jackson, and is said to make quite a splash when it’s out in theaters on December 25.
