December 25 marks the release of a brand new movie from iconic director Quentin Tarantino, “Django Unchained,” which promises to be typical Tarantino-esque fare, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Five brand new character posters for it have just been released: check them out in the gallery below.

“Django Unchained” tells the story of a slave (Jamie Foxx), who is freed by a bounty hunter (Christoph Waltz), and together set out to free the slave’s wife (Kerry Washington).

As it happens, she is being held by one of the biggest and most ruthless plantation owners (Leonardo DiCaprio in his biggest villain role yet), so they will have to get past him to save her.

The five character posters help paint the plot with such simple strokes, and it’s not a bad thing either, because this will ensure moviegoers will rush into theaters even if they’re not too familiar with Tarantino’s work.

As for the posters, DiCaprio is really going all out on this one, isn’t he?
