Divorce Is Still On, Kate Gosselin Tells Jon

Shortly after TLC announced that the “Jon & Kate Plus 8” show would continue without Jon Gosselin, since he no longer had a right to be featured in it regularly, Jon issued a statement saying he had asked his attorney to put the divorce on hold. What he claimed to want was a little more time – 90 days to be more precise – to work out whatever differences he and Kate might have. Kate’s response is that the divorce proceedings are still on, as Radar Online can confirm.

The mother of eight and television personality has not yet taken an official stand on the matter, but sources close to her can vouch that she won't budge an inch, despite Jon’s desperate intervention, as his request is being referred to in the media. In other words, she is determined to have her attorney reject Jon’s request for yet another 90 days until the divorce becomes final, because she sees this move as a bid for more publicity, and refuses to fall victim to this not-too-subtle scheme.

“Despite Jon Gosselin’s public proclamation that he wants to slow down his divorce and improve his relationship with Kate, she has decided to go full speed ahead to legally dissolve their marriage, Radar Online has learned exclusively.” Radar writes. The fact that Kate had to find out about Jon’s decision of stalling procedures just like everybody else – meaning, through the media – is not only extremely infuriating, but it also shows her that he’s only doing this for the attention.

“Kate sees no reason to wait and drag this out. She doesn’t think Jon is being sincere in his comments. She thinks it’s all a publicity stunt. If he meant any of it, he could have easily told her in person or on the phone. Jon is trying to repair his public image.” the same source adds for Radar. If true, the above would come to confirm the reaction many had when they heard of Jon’s decision, namely that he was just trying to clean up his soiled public image by pretending he wanted to postpone the divorce so that it did not break up his family.

In other Gosselin-related news, Jon’s representative has reportedly gone into full damage-control mode, issuing statements to the media saying that he has not been fired from the TLC show. The change operated by the network is only due to the fact that Jon and Kate are separated and does not equal a firing, the publicist insists. He does not, however, explain the change in the name of the show from “Jon & Kate Plus 8” to “Kate Plus 8.”
