Divinity: Original Sin is at the top of Steam's best-selling charts, and developer Larian Studios can breathe a huge sigh of relief. But their work is far from over, as the video game development studio's boss, Swen Vincke, stresses that they still have a lot ahead of them.

The role-playing game is quickly becoming a big success, having sold over 160k copies since its release on June 30, and heading aggressively toward the threshold of profitability.

But the talented development team at Larian Studios is yet to take a break, because after working day and night up to the game's release in order to make sure that they can successfully meet the launch date, they're now looking at adding yet more content to the game.

Larian is currently working on a hotfix to the game and also intends to provide a major patch soon, an update that will add more content to Divinity: Original Sin, as well as some of the exclusive stuff the studio promised their Kickstarter backers. This content was cut from the release version of the game but Vincke promised would be delivered shortly.

As far as long-term plans go, the team is looking forward to a well-deserved break, before returning to brainstorm on their next big undertaking.

"We sleep and then we're going to have a party and then we're going to sit together and figure out what the next game is," Vincke tells Eurogamer.

"Nobody believes us but we really don't have anything planned. This was all in for us. This was part of our plan when we started to go independent, that we'd make the biggest RPG we could with what we had in terms of money, and then we'll see what comes out of it," he explains.

He also reveals that he plans to continue making what he likes best, role-playing games, as he intends to acquire the license to a mystery RPG franchise.

"There was a certain license we tried to get, but they haven't replied to us. Maybe now they will reply to us! I'm not going to tell you, because that will ruin the chances of me getting it. We asked them a couple of months ago, so we'll ask them again now. Maybe they'll be interested. It's in the RPG space, that's for sure," he assures his fans.

Vincke has stopped short of sharing the identity of the mystery franchise, but it's bound to be something exciting, and judging by the superb work they did with Divinity: Original Sin, it's most likely also going to turn into another Kickstarter success story.
