The development team at Larian Studios announces that it is launching a Kickstarter campaign to get more resources for its upcoming title Divinity: Original Sin, an open-world role-playing game that will enhance player choice and cooperative gameplay.

The company says that development on Divinity: Original Sin is advanced and that it does not need the money to finish game creation.

All the funds that fans contribute will be used to add both depth and diversity to the game, with more areas that can be explored, better interactions between characters, extra consequences for quests and an increase in the complexity level for character creation.

Larian Studios wants to get 400,000 dollars (284,000 Euro) from gamers and at the moment, about 1,500 people have backed the project.

Swen Vincke, the founder of Larian Studios, says, “There's a lot of potential in the game systems we've created so far, so we want to invest everything we can into pushing them further and unlocking their full potential. If we get the extra support from our fans now, I'm very confident that we'll be able to make something truly exceptional.”

Divinity: Original Sin will use an isometric perspective and delivers a game world that gives players freedom to explore and approach the various quests in any way they see fit.

The game will not feature any pre-determined classes and each gamer will shape his protagonist via skill and ability choices.

The cooperative aspect of the role-playing game will be enhanced by the drop-in and drop-out mechanics and the fact that the two main characters will debate each important choice in Divinity: Original Sin.

Larian Studios also emphasizes the interactive nature of the game world, which allows skills and spells to interact in complex and surprising ways.

The game will also ship with complex editor tools, the same that the development team used to create the experience.
