With Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis' engagement and subsequent pregnancy taking up headlines in tabloids across the world, everyone's attention is now turning to Demi Moore, Ashton's ex, and emotions are mixed about her.

While some feel sorry for the aging actress, others are curious to see how she's coping with the big news in Ashton's life. Let's face it, we've all been the bitter ex at some point in our lives, and people want to see if Demi is going through the same thing.

OK! Magazine is claiming that Moore is now taking the legal steps to adopt a child from Mexico, supposedly to get over the news of Kunis' pregnancy. As part of that effort, the actress is said to have already visited several orphanages in Tijuana, Ensenda, and Tulum from Mexico and inquired about the proceedings.

One insider close to the actress is claiming that “Demi expects to have her son before Ashton and Mila have their baby at the end of the year,” making it seem like she's in a race with the famous couple to get a baby before them.

This report is highly dubious, and it's hard to believe that Demi would be pushed into adopting merely to spite Ashton and Mila and to fulfill some void in her life left by the divorce. Besides, Demi still has her own children to take care of.

Why, just yesterday, it was reported that Demi attended her daughter's musical performance in West Hollywood to show her her support. Of course, Bruce Willis was also there, but the two former partners are said to have not interacted, giving each other the cold-shoulder treatment all night.

It's clear that there are some hard feelings between the two at the moment, after they posed as a weird yet happy family back in the days when Ashton was still in the picture. Something changed back then and tabloids are claiming that soon Demi is going to display the same cold treatment against Kutcher and Mila.

So far, there have been reports that Demi was acting cool about the engagement and the pregnancy and that it gave her “closure.” Now, it seems she's taking the steps to swing some of the bad press back in her favor.

If in her love life she's swinging back by starting a relationship with rocker Sean Friday about nine months ago, the same can't be said for her family life. But surely, the 50-year-old actress can't be expected to compete with young Ashton, who is just starting out his family. Let's not forget that Demi is already the mother of three full-grown girls with actor Bruce Willis, all of whom are well into their twenties.
