Distimo, an app store analytics company, has released its latest report covering recent activity in Apple App Store for iPad and iPhone, as well as in competitors’ application stores.

The report covers activity for July 2010 in the United States.

It begins with the a few details on the Google Android Market and the Palm App Catalog.

According to Distimo, the average price of the 100 most popular applications in Google Android Market and Palm App Catalog is higher than the average price of the entire catalogue of applications.

In the Apple App Store for iPad, the average price of all applications is only 16% higher than in the iPhone store.

The average price of the 100 most popular applications is nearly three times as high in the Apple App Store for iPad, says Distimo.

Paid applications are priced lowest in Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store and Palm App Catalog, according to the report.

In the meanwhile, Distimo was also able to spot the top three cross-store publishers that publish applications in multiple stores.

These are Gameloft, Electronic Arts and Handmark, Inc., the analytics firm claims.

Not surprisingly, the companies that run each application store (Apple, Research in Motion - RIM, and Microsoft) are the top publishers in their own store with only a limited number of applications.

Finally, Electronic Arts is currently the top grossing publisher in the Apple App Store for iPhone.

Distimo points out that the renowned gaming studio publishes free and paid applications as well as applications with in-app purchases.

Those interested in learning more can download the latest Distimo Report here.

The PDF covers the Apple App Store for iPad, the Apple App Store for iPhone, BlackBerry App World (worldwide), Google Android Market, Nokia Ovi Store, Palm App Catalog and Windows Marketplace for Mobile for July 2010 in the United States.

HAHAHAHAHAAAHHAHA! Too funny. Jobs is just now waking from his denial that my Droids are going to rule the galaxy. After his Flash rant, 3rd party app developers should leave him twisting in the wind. Come on Steve, get the fanboys together for the chant: "Flash is evil! Flash is lame!" AhhhHAHAHAHAAHHHAHAHHHAHA!
Droids rule!
