Representatives from Disney stated that the rumors according to which they would be trying to sell the distribution rights for the latest film of the disgraced actor/director Mel Gibson, 'Apocalypto', are not founded.
After Gibson was arrested for drunken driving and went on record to say that 'the Jews are responsible for all the wars in the world', many outstanding figures from Hollywood asked that the actor be publicly shunned from now on.
Immediately after, the news of the actor's behavior while being arrested got out to the press, ABC (owned by Disney) refused to go on with the project for a mini series about WWII and the Holocaust, which was also to be directed by Gibson. Naturally, it was supposed that Disney would do the same with his 'Apocalypto' movie.

'It's not true', a spokesperson for the company said, stating that the film will be released as initially scheduled, on December 8th. 'Apocalypto' features a cast of unknown actors, retelling in Yucatec dialect the story of an ancient Mayan settlement.
Originally, Gibson was to lead the promotion campaign but now Disney will do it in its entirety, as it had nothing to do with the production of the movie, nor any involvement in it whatsoever.
