Disney too wants a piece of the music game market, with a game called Disney Sing It. And this is not the only title that Disney has announced at E3.

The upcoming music game, which will be released during the holiday season, in a short timeframe that will also see the launch of Rock Band 2 and of Guitar Hero: World Tour, features more than 35 songs that are taken from various other Disney-related franchises, like Camp Rock, Hannah Montana and High School Musical. The game is pure karaoke, with no attempt made at simulating anything else but the voice in one song. Disney says that Sing It is due for release on the PC, the Xbox 360, the PlayStation 3, the PlayStation 2 and the Nintendo Wii. Also, it seems that it will be getting digital download packs after launch, and special theme packs that will allow people to customize the look of the game.

Disney also plans to release a title called Ultimate Band during the holiday season. It will make use of the Wiimote and of the Nunchuk to simulate playing classic rock tracks like Whip It, My Generation, or Fell In Love With a Girl. The Nintendo DS will also receive a version of the game, which will use the stylus as the input device. There's no word on whether Ultimate Band will support microphones or whether only instruments will be simulated in the game.

Also musically-themed is High School Musical 3: Senior Year Dance, which will be available for the Xbox 360, Wii, PlayStation 2 and PC. But Disney is also releasing games that will have nothing to do with music, like Club Penguin: Elite Penguin Force for the Nintendo DS, aimed at all those familiar with the Club Penguin franchise. Spectrobes is also getting a new game.

Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager of Disney Interactive Studios, declared: "The notion that video games only appeal to a small subset of consumers is long gone, and the demand for titles that reach every member of the family is rapidly increasing. Whether leveraging popular Disney franchises such as High School Musical and Disney Fairies, or through innovative new properties such as Ultimate Band and Pure, Disney Interactive Studios is the leader in delivering broad appeal entertainment."
