Gamers can see some of the coming adventures

The team at Disney in charge of the Disney Infinity concept has already revealed that the biggest feature of the coming 3.0 version is the delivery of massive amounts of Star Wars-focused content, and now fans can take a look at an official trailer and some screenshots showing the action they can take part in.

The Starter Pack for the new version of the title will cost 64.99 dollars or Euro and will come complete with one of the special sets based on the original trilogy and the story told in Episodes I to III.

Gamers will get the option to also pick up a version of Disney Infinity 3.0 featuring content from the new The Force Awakens later in the winter of 2015.

Characters like Anakin, Luke, Leia, Darth Maul, Darth Vader, Han Solo and more will be included and gamers can also pick up other figures based on the Inside Out movie from Pixar and another one linked to the recently launched Avengers 2: Age of Ultron from Marvel.

Mickey and Minnie, Sam Flynn and Quorra from Tron: Legacy, Mulan, and Olaf will also be introduced to Disney Infinity 3.0.

James Pitaro, the president of Disney Interactive, states, "Disney Infinity is the only game where fans can play with Disney, Pixar, Marvel and Star Wars characters together in one experience. We worked closely with Lucasfilm to deliver an authentic Star Wars game experience, featuring some of the most iconic stories and characters from the past, present, and future."

A new Toy Box is also being included, and all the content launched for the first two versions of the game will remain compatible.

Disney Infinity 3.0 will face stiff competition

The wealth of Star Wars content is important because the game has a strong competition to deal with when it launches, at a yet unspecified date in the fall.

The development team at Activision in charge of Skylanders is also preparing an enhanced version of the game, although no details about it have been offered yet.

At the same time, Warner Bros. is getting ready to reveal and to launch its own toy-based video game experience, called LEGO Dimensions.

Finally, Nintendo is competing in the same space with its Amiibo line, and the company has recently promised it will be re-issuing some figures and will try to make sure that demand does not again outstrip offer.
