The development team working on Disney Infinity announces that it will launch Donald Duck as a playable character for the upcoming 2.0 version of the game, allowing players to get their hands on one of the classic cartoon heroes from its catalogue, complete with unique adventures and powers.

The company explains that “Armed with his trusty mallet Donald Duck takes us through some of the features in the all-new Toy Box. Get ready for some toy-flinging, Duck-feathered fun. Donald Duck is sold separately and has unique abilities only playable in the 2.0 edition of Disney Infinity.”

The footage is pretty funny in itself but it will be interesting to see whether Disney can make Donald Duck as attractive as the more high-profile superheroes that are being added to the title.

In the fall, gamers will be able to get access to all the members of The Avengers and The Guardians of the Galaxy, and villains are set to be delivered at a later date, with Loki one of the most interesting potential choices.

Rumors are suggesting that Disney Infinity will also get access to a range of characters based on the Star Wars franchise at some point in 2016, when the new movies get closer to launch.
