Disney Infinity 2.0 is set to launch in the fall with a host of new features, and the development team working on it has delivered a new video for it, designed to show gamers the types of experiences they will be able to access.

The footage makes it clear that all the old power portals and toys will be compatible with the new incarnation of the title, but also explains that the most important new mechanics will only be offered to those who are ready to invest some more into the mix of virtual experiences and real objects.

Disney Infinity 2.0 will arrive with a lineup of new heroes based on the Marvel comic book universe, including all the members of The Avengers and the Guardians of the Galaxy.

Some of them will be delivered in packs, while others can be bought standalone, and Disney is also delivering more classic characters like Donald Duck.

In 2016, rumors suggest that Disney Infinity 2.0 will get access to a range of heroes based on the Star Wars franchise.

At the same time, the title will have to deal with competition coming from Skylanders and from the new Amiibo range of experiences that will be launched by Nintendo.
