Dishonored, much like its protagonist, Corvo, has a lot of surprises up its sleeve, from the top-notch stealth gameplay, to the intriguing steampunk aesthetic of Dunwall, where the action takes place.

But what really sets the game apart from other types of stealth experiences are the supernatural powers that can be wielded by the hero.

Arkane Studios opted to make Corvo well versed in using conventional weapons, like a sword, a pistol, or a mini crossbow, but the developers also gave him, through the mysterious Outsider, a variety of paranormal powers.

Without a doubt, one of the most useful is Blink, which practically allows you to teleport from place to place instantly. This not only simplifies exploration, as you can easily reach faraway places, but also makes getting away a bit easier, as you can escape your pursuers by blinking to ledges and other remote locations.

Another crucial power that you should unlock as soon as possible is Dark Vision, as it basically allows you to “cheat” and see through walls. Besides getting to survey an area without actually entering it, Dark Vision also shows your enemies’ cones of vision, which makes evading their glance that much simpler.

For those who prefer more non-lethal approaches, two other powers should also be purchased, in the form of Possession, which allows you to take control of an animal or person, and Bend Time, which either slows down or completely stops time.

Those who want to shed the blood of their enemies should certainly consider investing their runes in abilities like Devouring Swarm, which summons a bunch of rats to tear down your enemies, or Windblast, which allows you to blow away your unlucky foes.

Of course, there are also passive abilities, from Vitality, which improves your health and its actual regeneration, to Agility, which makes you jump higher and sprint faster. Those who like to perform stealth assassinations can also get Shadow Kill, which turns your enemies into ash, while those who like brutal takedowns can go for Blood Thirsty and perform a variety of brutal executions.

Just like in the actual Dishonored game, the supernatural abilities give players a choice concerning their play style. What sort of powers did you unlock for Corvo? Share your favorites by leaving a comment below.
