After an 11 years relationship, Mr. and Mr. Elton John are to marry on 21st December in Windsor. Elton John and his longterm boyfriend David Furnish are preparing a low-key wedding, with not a single showbiz guest.
Sir John declared for Attitude magazine: "The ceremony will be his parents and my parents and the two of us.
The day will be very low-key and we'll take our parents to lunch afterwards."
He revealed that stars including Victoria Beckham, Liz Hurley and Sharon Osbourne had asked if they could be bridesmaids.
The singer has praised Madonna's decision to ban cameras on her wedding day, and promised to do the same, even though the offer he has received from an American TV company was more than tempting: £6million for exclusive rights to the civil partnership.
Reportedly, Elton John told TV bosses: "Our love is sacred to us. It doesn't come with a price tag."
The new law, that allows gay and lesbian couples to wed in Britain, is to come into effect on December 5. From that day on, couples older than 16 can change vows all over the country. Therefore, an avalanche of
same-sex marriages is expected.
