With some corporations and organizations showing timidity in making the jump to Internet Explorer 7, along with Windows Vista and the 2007 Office System, Microsoft has put together a technology overview of the latest version of its browser. The documentation is focused on enterprise clients and is designed to deliver the right arguments to leverage upgrading to IE7.

The documentation reveals the top browser improvements for the IE7 version aimed at Windows XP and Windows Server 2003. The technology overview focuses on highlighting the impact Internet Explorer 7 will deliver to enhancing employee productivity, the browser's streamlined deployment and management processes and the security evolution.

One of the major steps forward that Microsoft has taken with Internet Explorer 7 is the introduction of dynamic security protection. The documentation outlines the new browser architecture, the additional security features that act as a shield against malicious code and also the mitigations implemented to protect against web fraud and phishing attacks.

Microsoft has also emphasized the new interface that Internet Explorer 7 delivers and the impact that tabbed browsing will deliver to the workflow. Moreover, IE7 introduces the embedded web search box with a customizable search engine, advanced printing options, RSS feeds reader etc.

The paper also underlines the "improved platform for Web development and manageability, including improved support for cascading style sheets (CSS), a rich RSS feeds platform, and robust tools for deploying and managing Internet Explorer 7 in enterprise environments."
